Skin Micro-NeedlingCollagen Rejuvenation
Skin Needling has been heralded as a non-invasive way to achieve youthful, beautiful looking skin.
Skin Micro-Needling could be the key to looking younger for women over 40. Improve skin texture, reduce wrinkles and creates a more youthful skin tone.
Skin-Needling minimizes the appearance of scars from acne, surgery, thermal burns, chickenpox, trauma.
The patient can resume regular activities within a few days, depending on the depth of penetration of the needles. The number of sessions depends on the skin condition, but typically you’re looking at 3-5 treatments in 4-6 week intervals with maintenance treatments every 6-9 months.
What Is Skin Needling ?
Skin Micro-Needling is a collagen rejuvenation procedure thousands of tiny holes are punctured into your skin. It is a controlled skin injury.
These tiny holes or micro-wounds stimulate the body to fill these holes by producing new collagen and elastin in the dermis. The blood flow and collagen production resulting in the improvement of scars and rejuvenation of the skin. Your skin texture will be firmer, and the hydration of the skin is improved.
Dermal Needling is also referred to as collagen induction therapy (CIT) which is a very accurate description of what is happening. The depth of the needle penetration dictates the level of injury to the skin and the potential results to be achieved.
Skin Needling Aftercare
Skin Needling downtime is minimal. Skin needling is well tolerated by clients but dryness, scaling, redness, and swelling may be seen after treatment, lasting for several days or longer, depending on the depth of penetration of the needles.
The skin may appear slightly pink or moderately red for the first 24 hours after treatment. You should avoid wearing makeup and other skin products you use regularly for the first few days.
Sun protection for several weeks is recommended. In the case of acne scars after the skin needling procedure, the face should be cleaned with a gentle cleanser before bed. The next day, the face may be cleansed and makeup, lotions and other topical products applied as usual.
The result typically begins to notice one to two weeks after treatment. For optimal results, most patients require three to five treatment sessions, which are typically spaced four weeks apart. Deep wrinkles, scarring, and other severe skin damage may require more than six treatments. The new collagen and elastin produced by micro-needling, and subsequent improvements on your skin, typically last for one year. Recommended 6-9 months maintenance.
